Please dont think that my criticism was meant for you.
As is said, you were just the messenger.

I am not an expert on poetry either, though I enjoy it
occasionaly.  I do think sound is more important in
poetry than in other forms, hence the use of meter,
etc.  So, it is difficult for any poem to fully come
to life as long as it is not recited.

My criterion for good art is that it shake me up to
see something for the first time or in a new way.
Barakas poem neither appeals to my senses
through..this Baraka poem is the opposite of that.  It
repeats platitudes that actually can desensitize you.
I am not stuck on amy particular style but, in
addition to empty content, Baraka does not here make
use of any traditional or new devices to bring this
poem to life...outside of a few abritrary couplets and
repeating "Who is" on every line.

This poem, as far as I can see, should be thrown in
the trash can reserved for "socialist realism"
mummbling.
