Re: AUT: Re: [Fwd: <nettime> Toni Negri: Social Struggles in

dear Harald,

I share some of your perplexities on Negri's intervention, which I read as very timely and 'strategic', but on one point you raised on the issue of guaranteed income, I have been looking into it for some time and the campaign for 'reddito di cittadinanza' has an interesting base in Italy and includes some good elements, however 'reformist' as a demand it looks at first sight, it directly addresses the problem of real subsumption and biopolitical production in postfordism. I am no spokeperson for it but from what I gather many people who work on this campaign are aware of the fact that it amounts to demanding the impossible under present circumstances, but still see it as an opportunity for positing the right questions -especially on labour- at the level of everyday life. Some valuable work has been produced on this issue, but unfortunatelly most of it remains accessible to italian readers only. (see A. Fumagalli for instance http://www.ecn.org/andrea.fumagalli/10tesi.htm or on deriveapprodi http://www.deriveapprodi.org/rivista/9-10/fumagalli.html) I have translated one of their articles into english which you can find on http://www.generation-online.org/generation/fcimmateriallabour.htm
plus there is their own site: http://www.ecn.org/sortal/, especially http://www.ecn.org/sortal/links.php?op=viewlink&cid=4
(sorry if you don't read italian)
