The latter, with some small exceptions in Vietnam (where Ho Chi Minh
murdered thousands of Trotskyists who were quite a large presence in the
Vietnamese working class) and Bolivia (where they helped kill the revolution
in the 1950's.) Trotskyism's claims to having held up the banner of
revolutionary Marxism as the only numerically significant tendency which
opposed Stalinism is quite simply wrong (see Gombin's book on Leftism for
example.)
