I think it is a good question. Despite the ostensibly
lenient position that I put forward in my last email,
the truth is that I find myself engaging frequently in
trotskyist-bashing (when it comes to members of
"trotskyist" parties). My fulminations came to a head
in the months following 9/11, when the trotskyists
groups (most notably Workers World Party and the
International Socialist Organization) more or less
suceeded in taking control of the US anti-war
movement.
I found myself falling into old patterns of trying to
think up schemes to usurp their leadership.

As devious and fucked-up as these groups may be,
basically I was becoming like them by approaching the
issue in this way; it was certainly no way to start a
dialogue with members of their group who might be open
to alternatives. All this to say, that I cannot offer
a model of how to deal with these groups...in fact, I
would say that due to my hot temper, I am awful at it.
I hope "cooler" heads on this list will give their
suggestions!
