AUT: Was Sparta fascist?
- Subject: AUT: Was Sparta fascist?

I know this might have a tendency towards presentism,
but from the little I know of it, Sparta does seem to
have many of the characteristics of what we dubb
fascism.
If this is the case that Sparta was fascist (or even
proto-fascist), doesn't this pose enormous problems
for us, because isn't fascism a phenomenon that
emerges in 20th century capitalism (with proto-fascism
in the 19th century: Gobineau, imperialist brutality
similar to fascism etc)
