AUT: Reactionary ideology and it's relationship to the capitalist class....

I'm curious about this. If we look at the class
composition of much of the "Right-wing" ideologues
(with the exception of the right-wing think-tanks,
like the Heritage Foundation, etc), many of them come
from lower-middle class backgrounds.

How do we relate this ideological dominance of the
ideas of the "lower-middle class", with the the notion
that the "ruling ideas of every historical epoch, are
the ideas of the ruling class".

How is it possible, for the lower-middle class to
become this powerful? To take an example: Here in
Ontario, for more than 40 years, the Conservative
Party has dominated Ontario politics. Except for the
Harris government, almost all of the Conservative
governments were dominated by people of upper-middle
to upper-class individuals, who valued stability as a
means to capital accumulation, rather than open class
conflict.

In the mid-90s, Harris someone from a lower-middle
class background came to power, and his government has
been engaging in open class-war.

Is the capitalist class propping up lower-middle class
ideology, as a justification for neo-liberalism?
