<DIV>I don't know.&nbsp; I think that the line between the facts on the surface available to all and the not-yet-exposed processes is a fairly blurry one.&nbsp; Firstly, I feel that individual surface level facts are often reified appearances that mask&nbsp;a&nbsp;complex of system of underlying material processes/practices&nbsp;which must be exposed if we want any critical reflection to take place on the actions that we are engaging in.&nbsp; Of course, I'm not going to provide a detailed description of all the hopes and fears of activists.&nbsp; I'm more interested in the distinct and everchanging conceptual toolbox and its relation to material processes.&nbsp; I have no intention of providing detailed description of&nbsp;the cognitive processes that activists undertake in organizing action.&nbsp; The method itself is&nbsp;simply a means of accessing the concepts&nbsp;that activists draw upon differently in organizing actions.&nbsp; Cooptation by the&nbsp;State is certainly a major concern, however, by&nbsp;focussing on&nbsp;concepts rather than providing detailed accounts of organizing practices, by focussing on transformation rather than searching for a static set of cognitive processes, and by making all participants partners in the research I feel that this project will be of very little use to the State and will not include anything of relevance that they do not already know...&nbsp; I don't know.&nbsp; Maybe I'm just naive...</DIV>
