AUT: Re: workers in Argentina

Interesting letter. I wonder about the participants from the unions. Are
they workers or trade union bureaucrats, for example? And the desire to
nationalize the businesses and re-open them under workers' control also
leaves open the possibility of a United Airlines situation where the workers
exploit themselves because they are still trapped in a broader capitalist
market.
Of course, big meetings occupying workplaces to hold meetings of this sort
is exciting stuff. It seems somewhat common even though the idea of a
conscious alternative to capital seems low at the moment. Many places seem
to be aiming at the politicians, but not exactly at the state or the right
of the capitalists to organize things. Maybe this is important simply for
that reason.
Thoughts?
Cheers,
Chris
