AUT: Re: Proletariatization of the "professional" fields...

in my estimation, this has been going on since the 40s so that now the bulk
of doctors are merely employees of hospitals, lawyers merely employees of
firms, etc. hell, doctors in a nyc hospital went on strike a few years ago.

the ideas of getting out of med / law school and setting up one's own
practice is thought of as mythology by every med / law school student i
know.

and, after all, this just goes along with what marx said about the
proletarianization of the middle class, etc. etc.

as to the effect on class struggle... i can only imagine that the swelling
of the working class means more accute struggle (on both sides).
