Re: AUT: Solidarity UK

Neil Fettes asked about The Red Menace in Canada.

I don't know much about this unfortunately, other than that The Red Menace
(London) received a letter from a Ulli Diemer in 1990 which said 'I was part
of a collective which put out a libertarian socialist magazine called The
Red Menace some years ago'. The address given was PO Box 171, Postal Station
D, Toronto, Ontario. The letter also mentions something called
'Connexions'.

I was interested to see that you've spoken to Ken Weller about the early
history of Solidarity and also had some stuff about Joe Jacobs. I am vaguely
thinking about putting together an overview of left/libetarian communist
groups in twentieth century Britain with links to texts on the internet. The
era up to the end of World War Two is reasonably well documented (Sylvia
Pankhurst, Anti-Parliamentary Communist Federation), likewise the 1960s
onwards, but I know virtually nothing about the late 40s and 50s other than
that Joe Thomas was active in a couple of groups in this period as was Guy
Aldred. Any ideas?
