R: AUT: capitalism and disasters

Dear Neil,

On 1970 or 1971 (I do not remember) there was an earthquake in Ancona. I was
in one of the groups (collettivi) of the university in that town and we
together with collettivi of the port (dockers and workers building ships)
and people in general organised things to impose Hotels recover for homeless
and food and so on. At the end of 71 I was in Calabria and there was a
'alluvione' (rain destroying houses). For around 2 months we settled a tend
camp with a big kitchen apparatus in one of the villages up to the
maintains, 100 Kilometre far from the university. At least 50 students went
there, rotating for not losing too many lessons. I was teaching and went up
2-3 times a week to the 'political actions' meetings. What I remember with
more 'feeling' is we and a lot of children enjoying singing 'revolutionary'
songs in the night around the fire.

Anyway, proper *outonomists* did not exist yet.

One of us wrote a paper on Ancona earthquake (from a sociological point of
view). I'm not sure I can find it out, but I may try if you want; of course
it is in italian.
