as christmas was initially a winter-festival of this
sort.

i do not find any contradiction between communist
ethics and getting together with loved ones and
hanging out, goofing off, giving/recieving gifts,
eating a great deal of good food (derived from, at
least momentarily, communized rescources), playing in
the snow, generally have a good time, etc. in fact:
this seems to be to be what most communists would like
to see the world be 24/7.
