Michael,

	I could not agree with you more that language is given a near
total dominance as the ground for political action by the American
liberal/progressive scene. But what I don't understand is why it
makes you roll your eyes when middle class people of color use this
politics of rhetoric,
as a opposed to what? When whites do the same thing it does not bother
you as
much because you expect it from them? Do you want to clarify why you choose
that community as your object of repproach?In this respect they seem no
different than our political community at large.
