dear list,
In Adolfo's replies apologising for the state-capitalist
rule that developed out of the strangled Russian revolution
and NEP , he lets the cat out of the bag by his total
negation of the role of the soviet/councils movements
urban, but rural as well well as the basis of the workers/toilers
power.,
When in the transition the Party led soviets were broken-up
and wrecked , (from both the civil war and the bogarting
of their purposes as the workers active mass organ of the
class struggle ,) the Party ended up substituting itself
and its policies thru top-down , arbitrary methods ,
including returns to bougeois managerial control
methods as well , and other bourgeois norms..
This , + the defeats of the Western soviets movements by
rightist reaction and social democrats unified conterrevolution
in the West by 1923 , left the Russian state , economically backward
and isolated and decimated . With the soviet movements drailed, the Party
tried to run the show itself and the economic social realities
meant that the (temporary) state capitalism of the transition
period to socialism became instead, a new state cap ruling
class from with in the Party and technical/military/administrative
apparatus itself . Stalin merely became eventually their leading
political leader and spokes man.
The corrupted ideas of the Managerial class and Party apparatus
eventually made a mockery of Marxism , such that the CP majority claimed
everywhere where mere state ownership existed ,( no matter
the clear capitalist realtions remained, waged labor, commodity
production,
money , production for profits , competition between ministries
in the bureaucratic "plan" with no workers control) that Russia
was advancing to socialism!
See the views of Stalin, Preobrezhensky, etc.)
No, not workers socialism was built in Russia , but state cap
rule over the workers.
