To follow up on what Paul said about  "Behind the Balaclava", "Charles
Reeve" also told me he now felt the focus of that essay was too much on
the uncritical European and america supporters of the Zapatistas, and
that some of the meaning of the Zaps to Mexicans and Indians got
overlooked. He felt, quite reasonably I think, that once again
First-world lefties were jumping on board without knowing much, if
anything, about the movement they were supporting, and that it had
become a whole fashionable-romantic thing that was without much real
political content.  Or even curiosity.
