Re: AUT: Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI)

The International Forum on Globalization is campaigning around the MAI. We
just took out a full-page ad on it in various editions of the New York
Times on February 12 and 13, and then on Feb. 17 in the International
Herald Tribune. We provide packets of materials on the subject for $10 a
pop, but if you go to our website (www.ifg.org) you can link up to a number
of groups doing campaigns on it. (we're at 1-415-771-3394 or fax
1-800-771-1121)

Also, two of our associates in Canada--Maude Barlow and Tony Clarke--have
written an excellent book on the MAI titled "The MAI and the Threat to
American Freedom." It is available through Stoddart Publishers in Canada
(1-800-805-1083).

We just heard that a hearing on the MAI that was to be held on the 25th has
been cancelled at the request of the U.S. State Dept. Our associate Lori
Wallach from Public Citizen in DC was to testify against it. She warns
people not to believe that just because they are postponing things that it
means they are going to give up on it!
