Just a comment on Steve's post, since I agree that Henri's analysis is
extremely fine. It is not henri who "privileges" the workplace, but the
existing social system. It's just a fact that that's where workers
actually have power. As Henri said in the passage Steve quoted, class
struggle can go on anywhere--in the streets, in the home, on the phone;
but it's only the possibility of stopping the accumulation of capital by
ceasiong work--and potentially of controlling the processses of production
and distribution of goods--that gives the working class any social power.
As the Liverpool story shows, whatever the solidartity demonstrations,
internet messages, or saymbolic support actions of various sorts.
