You always focused on taking care of the men; I focused on the raising of
children --which someone has to do because they cannot do it themselves. How,
in what situations, how do those raising children support themselves (just by
their own wage earned at their waged job? the nuclear family alone?) These
remain basic questions that I think Katha has not addressed by constantly
reiterating the issue of taking care of men. Nor do her remarks address the
issue that the wage is "political" -- fought over and tied in with other
social, political, workplace etc struggles.

No doubt in part true -- but people get persuaded to "identify" with jobs of
all miserable sorts -- and then they often also resist those identities and
subvert what those in power want them to believe.
