The Stop Cassini Earth Flyby Action Site has developed considerably.  Please
visit and help us expose the risks of the Cassini space probe's flyby of
Earth.

We are trying to help generate post-production funding for Karl Grossman's
"Nukes in Space, Part  II". This new documentary will be produced by
EnviroVideo, a project of Envision Environmental Media Center. "Nukes In
Space, Part I" has been widely aired on cable and broadcast television in
the United States and abroad. Part II begins where Part I left off and
promises to be just as powerful! See

We are also seeking funding to design and publish full page ads in the "New
York Times" on June 23rd and in "USA Today" on June 24, 1998.  The focus of
the advertisements will be to call for Congressional hearings to reconsider
the scheduled 8/18/99 Cassini Earth flyby maneuver.  By exposing the
dangers of the Cassini plutonium probe, we feel we are supporting the
movement against weaponization and nuclearization of space and building
momentum to abolish them on Earth. We will draw these connections in the
advertisements. If you have ideas how best to do this, please advise . . .
We have already sent letters of inquiry to several foundations including
the Turner Foudation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Ben &
Jerry's Foundation and the Ottinger Foundation. If anyone has suggestions
of other possible funding sources, please let us know . . .

Lastly, we are working on a Press Conference with WILPF (NY Metro),
Peace through Reason of Prop 1 and Grandmothers for Peace. Karl Grossman and
Michio Kaku will be presenting statements to the media and public on June 24
at the United Nations in New York City.  We have invited Congressman Jerrold
Nadler and other members of Congress who supported the postponing of the
Cassini launch.  Please consider helping this event to be successful.
