Drake International and the Liverpool Dockers

A Plea for help

As you may know the Liverpool Docks dispute is now in its 20 month. The
dockers are hoping to organise a WORLD port strike to co-incide with their
next international conference in Montreal on May 25. This was agreed by
American and Japanese delegates [with Liverpool delegates attending] at the
ILWU conference in Honolulu. We hope this is a success.

However there is a more immediate problem which perhaps the Net can help to
resolve. Drake International has been retained by the Mersey Docks and
Harbour Co to recruit, manage and train a scab workforce. Apparently it
specialises in this kind of role all over the world.

The Dockers would very much like some information about this firm, its
activities and especially its CEO, one Robert Pollock, who lives somewhere
in 'WestHolme' or 'Wilshire' in the West Los Angeles area. The company also
has offices in Santa Monica.
