It is obvious that the article was directed against the social centers and
revolutionary left in Italy. However, it is also -- make no mistake about
it -- an attack on *us*. It was both an attack against _this_ list and a
precursor to attempts at political censorship and surveillance of the
Internet.
Given the context of increasing attempts to censor "pornography" on the
Net, this seems to be a prelude to the next step. In that sense, I think
it is appropriate for you as moderator to respond. Perhaps an "open
letter" to _other Internet mailing lists_ is appropriate.
While I'm on this topic, let's all remember that this is not a "secure"
channel for communication -- as we are an open list -- and what you write
_can_ conceivably be read by state agents and used against you.
Fortunately, I don't think there is any fuel in the archives for an
"anti-terrorist" campaign, but .... let's not underestimate the ferocity
of our class enemies.
