Hormuz stands, in fact, for Ahura Mazda. Ahura Mazda was, perhaps we
all know it, the proposer of a peculiar dualist philosophy which was
the Iranian form of dialectical thinking. In this philosophy the
forces of darkness endlessly struggle with those of light.

I know that this is of course rather abstract.

But I rejoice in the delightful idea that these events take place in a
Strait named after the creator of such philosophy, which, by the way,
seems to be an almost permanent trend in Iranian thinking for more
than two millenia.
