IMNSHO, If, what by now must be 3/4 million dead Iraqis, doesn't 'firm
up opposition
to the war in the u.s.' , nothing the Iraqis say will make it any 'firmer'.

Not quite the point. There are always people in anti-war groups who
worry about "what the Iraqis want" etc. Every indication that the IRaqis
do NOT want the u.s. there, however toothless, helps firm up opposition
to the war in the u.s.
