Response Jim C:
My dear Autie, Spiritual Leader and friend Yellowdust Woman
(Otohkoisstskkakkiaki) used to say that "The 'nobodies' make history while
the self-annointed/appointed/credentialed 'sombodies' position themselves
to take the credit for the making of history.
When Douglas MacArthur made his "I Shall Return" Speech, a reporter asked
him "Shouldn't it be WE shall return?" MacArthur answered "I fail to see
the point". Of course the point was that a whole lot of poor GIs (the "WE")
would have to die for his royal highness MacArthur (the "I") to return.
This is characteristic of pompous and in-love-with-themselves demagogues,
narcissists, megalomaniacs like MacArthur and MLK--excessive pronounism and
excessive use of I and Me and MY and seeking/taking credit and the
spotlight for what the masses of "nobodies" really do and sacrifice to
achieve and never get the credit for.
MLK was a showman and a demagogue. "I", "Me" have a Dream. Because he never
did an honest day's work, self-proclaiming/annointing himself a "leader"
which is what all parasite clergy and management types do--seek training as
"leaders" of the flock as they self-assert they have the "stuff" of
leadership--he also showed little regard for the sacrifices of the masses
of "nobodies" as manifested in his excessive use of the pronoun "I" and
""ME" and "MY" in his speeches.
In the early sixties, before around 1967, MLK had nothing much to say about
the Vietnam War even though, as I can attest, it had been raging for some
time. But later on, after his hypocrisy and philandering became more well
known, and after the Ciuvil Rights Legiolsation of 1964, he needed a new
market niche to showcase himself and rhetoric/voice he was obviously so in
love with. I am tired of someone whose role was making public speeches
being called either a leader or major contributor because of some speeches.
The real work and sacrifice has always been done by the "nobodies" in quiet
venues unnotices by the media while the showpersons and demagogues in love
with their own personnas and vocal tones--like MLK--take the spotlight.
Notice the dates involved in those FBI files on MLK: Letter from FBI sent
to his house on Novemeber 21, 1964. November 27, 1964 FBI meets with Roy
Wilkins who tells them he and many others know about MLKs womanizing and
exposing himself and the Movement to compromise by FBI and asks them not to
expose him because of harm to the Movement. December 2, 1964 MLK requests
and gets a meeting with J Edgar Hoover in Hoover's Office, kisses Hoover's
ass, asserts his bona fides as an anti-Communist, praises and drools all
over Hoover and promises to be a "Good Boy" in the future and encourage all
Negroes to become snitches for the FBI, and according to what FBI files
exist, Hoover discontinues surveillance for some time, MLK is never exposed
and it is only two-and-a-half years later MLK starts making some small
references to Vietnam increasing in frequency until his death.
And now, a whole eopoch, involving the myraid sacrifices and tireless work
of the many "nobodies" involved in the "Civil Rights Movement" is summed up
with Black Artistocrat, sexist, womanizer, exploiter of dispossessed "sex
workers", sexual degenerate, showman, demagogue, hypocrite, FBI snitch
recruiter, narcissist and megalomaniac MLK and "MLK Day".
"Somebodies" MAKE history? Bullshit.
