The hypothesis seems to be that only terrorist are interested in making history.
This: "People who strive to make history seek to have their actions recorded by journalists and historians.", hearkens back to something Marshall McLuhan said about terrorists being "...people striving to be noticed, people lacking (nb. having been stripped of...) identity."
