Subject: [Vensteering] Announcing VSN Staff Hires I am excited to announce that
the Venezuela Solidarity Network has hired two half time
organizers. James Jordan will work out of
Tucson, AZ to coordinate the Emergency Response Network and to organize
grassroots affiliation with VSN West of the Mississippi. You can reach
James by email at James@xxxxxxxx. James will continue to work on
US ?democracy building? issues including the NED and Worker to Worker Solidarity
which is pushing the AFL-CIO for a new foreign policy by US labor. James
will continue to work in his landscaping company the other ?half? of his time.
Banbose Shango will work out
the DC office of the Alliance for Global Justice and VSN. He will
coordinate building a grassroots base East of the Mississippi and serve as
liaison with the People of African Decent in Solidarity-Venezuela (PADS-V)
committees. The other half of his time will be for the Alliance for Global
Justice fundraising for VSN, Nicaragua Network, and Campaign for Labor Rights.
You can reach Banbose by email at banbose@xxxxxxxx. Chuck Kaufman will continue to
be loaned by the Nicaragua Network as Interim Coordinator of VSN and the
Alliance for Global Justice will continue to loan the services of AfGJ Program
Coordinator Rebekah Lundquist. If you haven?t checked out the web page in
awhile visit www.vensolidarity.org
and see a sample of Rebekah?s good work. You can reach Chuck and Rebekah
at VSN@xxxxxxxx or either one at their
personal emails, Chuck@xxxxxxxx and Rebekah@xxxxxxxx. We are very happy that direct
mail fundraising is beginning to bear fruit and can now support two half-time
positions. We hope that the donor base will continue to grow and that we
will be able to expand staff in the future. Chuck
Kaufman Interim
Coordinator
