Re: [A-List] Re: Workers World Editorial: Why Virginia Tech killings happened

I heard a professor of creative writing on the Today Show, a former teacher
of this guy, say that over a year-and-a-half ago she picked up some violent
images, tendencies, themes in this guy's writing and took his work, plus
some of his emails to the police who told her they couldn't do anything as
he was only writing fiction and none of it could be used to infer violent
tendencies/intentions on Cho's part.

None of the Today Show interviewers (typically powerpoint/People Magazine
"deep") picked up on the "ethics" of turning in work of a student
especially in a "creative writing" class to the cops.

What I really want to see is someone at VT telling all these "Network
anchorperson" types to fuck off and find some other people and their misery
to use as "stage props" to "show" that Katie Couric, Brian williams and
Charlie Gibson are not simply coiffed Barbie-n-Ken teleprompter readers,
People Magazine "deep", but instead, are "real journalists" who work "in
the field" as well as behaind the ol anchor desk reading a teleprompter and
waxing "serious" and "sad"--for a brief moment--only to switch to a smile
and "How about them Mets?".

I would love to see one of the victims wounded, say, when asked how they
are doing and how do they "feel" after getting shot, come back with
something like the following: "Well first I was a bit depressed, and losing
some friends was hard, the wound hurts, but, I just got some good drugs for
my pain, three offers by agents to represent me, I already got some
inquiries about doing a book deal and maybe even a movie with me playing
me, the medical bills are taken care of by the university scared shitless
we are going to sue their asses, instead of an expensive student loan
taking twenty years to pay off, I'll be making at least enough to cover all
my college up through PhD and a new car and house, and, my girlfriend who
dumped me last week, now wants to get back with me due to my newfound
celebrity, so all and all, this was quite a propitious event just as it was
for the networks and their anchors in terms of ratings and revenues.
