Tar Sands Rush
January 18th, 2007 · No Comments
So it seems that our PM Harper and his new environmental plans are just
all a big scam. Some definitive proof of this is the break neck speed at
which he is allowing the development of tars sands exploration in northern
Alberta to go on.
I was watching an interesting report last night that will be presented in
full tomorrow night on the Radio Canada news magazine Zone Libre. In short
for those that will not watch the program it questions whether the Harper
government can de serious about reducing greenhouse emissions and at the
same time allow tar sands oil exploration to go ahead without hardly any
care for the environment.
It is no secret that the Amercians are one of the largest consumers of
petrol in the world, and that Mr Bush and Mr Harper are close. I can just
imagine George W calling Steve and telling him to speed up production
because we do not want to always rely on the Middle East to fill up our
SUVs.
The report mentioned increasing our tar sands production times five which
I imagine is really not good for the environment at all. Mr Harper and his
environment policies appear to be just smog and mirrors, he is hoodwinking
us all on this matter and we should all remember that at election time.
