Re: [A-List] A Chinese Marxism view: Problems of int'l. strategyfor today's China

I want to thank both Henry and Jim for their views on the development of
socialism in China. I now understand Henry's position and must say I agree
with it. And with Jim's sequel. It is one of the best discusions I have
seen on the subject and am forwarding to my party list for discussion
there.

I am presently sharing a house here in Tanzania, while engaged in this
trial at the fascist Rwanda war cries tribunal, with an American lawyer
who claims to be a communist but is completely enamoured with the position
of the Japanese Communist Party that, at least as he expresses it, the
best way forward to socialism is the full development of capitalism until
the natural change to socialism takes place under the strain of the
contradictions. This view is not a revolutinary one and in fact denies
that a revolution is necessary. But I don't know enough about the JCP to
understand whether that is their real position or if so why they hold that
position.
