Re: [A-List] How "scientific" is science?
Michael
(I realize, we should probably address our responses as otherwise no one
know which reply is a response to whom...In that regard, apologies Sabri)
Again, not speaking authoritatively (for as you point out Michael, we may
know 'something' on this matter but are hardly 'experts')...it is still my
understanding that the HIV virus has simply *not* been identified according
to this gold standard (i.e. Koch's postulates). To then say that the paper
you forwarded dosen't "have" to do that..well, in that case, it may be a
'fine' paper within its own assumed premise...but it is clearly *that*
premise which is under discussion and so fails to address what is the heart
of the matter here:
To wit: where is the evidence that the virus has been definitively isolated.
It is interesting to note here that Peter Duesberg (discoverer of PCR, the
'polymerase chain reaction') stumbled upon precisely this failing when
innocently inquiring after such basic supporting material prior to giving a
seminar. Everyone he went to just sluoughed him off. They didn't know....He
didn't give up. It turned out *no one* could provide him with the basic
proof of the virus' isolation. When he kept asking, he soon found himself
riduculed and ostracized by the 'scientific' community)

The point
is, show me a paper that fulfills Koch's postulates, the historical and
scientific standard for demonstrating isolation of a virus.
It is not up to "a paper" to fulfill the postulates. Koch refers to a
body of evidence, verified and tested, not a single hypothesis test. In
the
case of the study of HIV and its connection with AID, Koch's postulates
are
adequately fulfilled.
