Thanks for those papers...

[It wasn't, of course, that I doubted the validity of the concern (that is,
of the virus, or viral potential, itself)....it's just that I like to know
the specifics...the theory behind the phenomenon.]

It seems in large part that the concern comes from the present mortality
figures themselves, though the second paper directly alludes to "several
lines of evidence" i.e. different anti-genic properties and gene
constellations, expanded host range etc.
