The IEA/EIA official line is that peak will most likey occur around 2037. But the studies which this are based on are so obviously flawed to anyone who takes a cursory glance (as best summarised by Werner Zittel et al. here: http://www.energybulletin.net/2544.html )It's been a year now since stories on Peak Oil came out. Over the past few months, the topic has been covered by major news publications. I find it strange given the ramifications of Peak Oil that the government has neither confirmed nor denied the veracity of the theory/findings. Can it be the ramifications on the financial markets? I find it strange also that the major news coverage has not sought out a position from the energy agency. This is definitely one for Holmes.
