Re: [A-List] Seymour Hersh: The Coming Wars

maggie, Stan

I dont know either but it seemed to me as I said before not to be a
warning about an attack on Iran but a justification for one. he accepts
throughout his article that iran is developing nuclear capacity and
implying nuclear arms and never questions why that is suposed to be so
outrageous and why Iran doesnt have the right to build them if it wants to
or what the real objective of such a war would be as we all know it has
nothing to do with nuclear programs. But Hersh would rather accept the
propaganda as fact and go from there. Hardly great journalism. It seemed
to me to be a test to see what the reaction will be. In the Abu Ghraib
story he was great about revealing the torture but he stopped short of
blaming the higher ups and again seemed to be getting out a story but to
direct it into side alleys before it blew up in their faces.

But what do I know, I'm stuck here at this fascist tribunal for Rwanda in
the middle of the Tanzanian plains cross-examining witnesses made fat with
scripts they have been forced to memorize by the Tutsi regime or die. The
witnesses are so bad they are funny. Talk about surreal.
