[A-List] AAA ratings, USA, Argentina

Financial Times, as quoted by Michael K.:

"The rating agencies downgraded Japan, the world's largest creditor
country, to the level of Botswana despite the fact that its vast
public sector debt was owed mainly to the Japanese people. Yet the US
retains a Triple A rating while doing its best to turn itself into
Argentina -- albeit with the difference that it borrows in its own
currency. My suggested motto for the rating business: Forever Behind
the Curve. Or should I save that for Alan Greenspan's Federal
Reserve?"

Not a minor difference, which explains the AAA rating. Argentina was
forced to get indebted in foreign currency by the same guys who are
now indebting USA in the currency they control.

BTW: the "AAA" was one of the main Death Squads operating in
Argentina during the mid-late 70s. These squads were the shock troops
of those who got us into debt, who were at the same time allies and
partners of the same forces that lead US finance.

On every account, USA deserves the AAA well.
