Dear Henry,

I had never unsubbed anyone from any list I moderated until I unsubbed
Melvin. I do not even like neither the moderated lists nor the concept of
list moderation but accept them as necessities as my experiences on many a
lists taught me. I unsubbed Melvin not because of his views but because of
his attitude. Mine was not a choice between Louis and Melvin either, since I
do not choose one over the other for any reason. They just have different
places for me and that is all. If Louis, or anyone else for that matter,
behaves the same way and crosses the line as Melvin did, I would not
hesitate to unsub him/her either. I have always viewed Melvin as a valued
member of this list and would be more than happy to see Melvin back,
provided that he obeys the very simple rules of this list. If only I can now
bring back Macdonald as well.
