[A-List] My Note

I was tempted to title this post as "Comoderator's Note" but I am not
writing this as a comoderator. 

I am writing this as someone who has learned a lot from many a posts to this
list.

Here are two points I would like to make:

1) There are people from around the world on this list and for most of us
fights among our American friends are irrelevant. If our American friends
want to fight among themselves, they should do that elsewhere. There are
about twenty or so subscribers from Turkey here and if we start to fight
among ourselves, and I assure you that we can if we so choose because I
doubt that any arbitrarily selected pair of subscribers from Turkey share
the same world view, I don't think most of you would find our fights
interesting.

2) Since the time of late Mark Jones, whom I miss dearly, this list has been
a refuge for many a people dismissed from other lists because of their views
and given them a space to express their opinion, provided that they respect
the following very simple rules of of the list:

1. No sectarianism 
2. No chauvinism (i.e., racism, sexism, nationalism)
3. No flame wars
4. No apologetics for imperialism 

As a list member, I respect these rules and I expect the others to respect
them as well.

The above is my personal note my friends. The rest is up to you, provided of
course that there is no need for us the list moderators to put their
moderator hats on.
