Re: [A-List] James Petras on Beslan - fire away

Here is the crux of the political difference.

Because the Czar colonized the Caucuses . . . the event that is Beslan is
not reactionary and fascist like political terrorism driven by War Lords seeking
political and economic relations with world capital . . . but the same as the
Irish struggle against the English or . . . say the historic struggle of the
African American people for Liberation and social revolution.

Sorry if I see Ireland and North Ossetia differently.

Actually . . . the right of self determination for nations as a slogan was
implemented in various ways in the Soviet Union. Hence the political category
called autonomous regions. This of course has never been understood by the
anti-Soviet left in America.

Ireland would of course not be seen from the lens of the communists political
form called an autonomous region.

Screaming self determination as a political slogan for communists today is
utterly bourgeois and the calling card of the imperial bourgeoisie. In other
words the political terrorists . . . who took the hostages and did the killings
are really freedom fighters . . . fighting to break North Ossetia colonial
relationship to the Russian State?

Tragic thinking.
