Here is the offending passage:

Hey, there's this death notice: "The militant right in the US has
committed suicide with the war on Iraq. It has given itself a fatal
dose of poison in an attempt to cure the Saddam virus." That's just a
bit premature, isn't it? The militant right still controls the
federal government, last time I checked.

In those legal cases where men knowingly infected with HIV proceed to have
unprotected sex with others who then contract the virus, the men are charged
with manslaughter/murder. Presumably by this logic such a charge would be
"premature".

It is really very superficial to argue that, just because the surface
remains unchanged, everything is unchanged and will remain so for the
foreseeable future. But this is the kind of cheap shot that drove Mark to
set up the A-list in the first place.
