  Gary,

  Just an aside.  You wrote, " It is in the interest of everyone, especially
that of the "proletariat", that a solution be found."  It has always been my
understanding that the interests of the proletariat could only be served
through steps leading to the abolition of the capitalist system, the
construction of socialism, and its own self-destruction along with the rest
of class society.  How can an improving world economy lead to this when all
capital accumulation (called "economic growth" in mainstream economics)  is
simply the greater alienation of the proletariat from the product of its
labor, the creation of an even greater behemoth of Capital facing it?
