aside), but please clip extraneous text.  i believe this most recent reply

Thanks to Xenon Zi-Neng Yuan for reiterating how costly it is when needless
duplication prevails on the list. Since many of us are posting from
addresses connected via IDSN/ADSL links, it is easy to forget. However,
despite repeated reminders over the years there are a few listers who
persist in ignoring what is a courtesy to those who do not have the
advantages of a fast link paid for by their employers. Then there are those
who get material from the A-list and forward it to their wider distribution
lists, which include the A-list. Christopher Black is a regular culprit in
this.

Once again, please take the time to make sure that your messages are as long
as they need to be.
