Observation: I have fasted many many times, and it is a perfectly safe way
to
rid the body of toxins if you drink adequate amounts of water (ie. when
you're
thirsty). You won't find a single doctor within the main medical
establishment
that will ever prescribe it though; it's cheap, and it's a tremendously
effective
way to recover from ill health. Every time I fast I have to shower
twice/day;
my breath becomes offensive (must brush teeth several times/day); tongue
becomes coated so that you can scrape the sludge off with a knife, etc. In
other words, the body is de-toxifying, and there's nothing dangerous about
this unless you are diabetic or suffer from some severe metabolic disorder.

It makes sense that fasting should be a very beneficial process for most of
us.
After all, we wandered the earth for thousands of years, gorging ourselves
when we were hungry, and alternately going for long periods with little if
anything at all to eat, and only water to drink. I would urge anyone who is
feeling ill or sluggish in any way to refrain from eating food for just a
short
period of time at first -- 2-3 days, and note how your body reacts.
Note how your eyesight improves, for example, and how you can focus on
your work. Any animal in the wild knows better than to eat when it is sick,
and we should have learned that by now as well. Yet, we go on gorging
ourselves, without any relief, and as the people grow in girth so do the
portions get larger and larger.
