Re: [A-List] Re: COUP d' ETAT IN WASHINGTON

Sabri, I am dizzy just reading....I don't presume to explain this or
that named gentlemen's crimes against ideology/philosophy.  Other
than Wallerstein, quite frankly, I don't know about whom you speak -
and that is not to say that I should - or should not - know.  I am not a
Marxist; that is why I am on this list as odd as that might seem.  I was
invited to the list by Mark Jones, who knew quite well where I stand yet
was absolutely undeterred about my signing on.  It's been a real pleasure
to participate, but I do try to keep my posts and comments
pertinent to the issues before the A-List - and only what I think might
be useful/stimulating to all, not necessarily what I think you should know
about my side of the argument.  And I do recognize my limitations in
commenting
usefully on the finer nuances of your secular faith. (Though I do appreciate
the irony that we're talking here respectively about two dead Jews :-)

But, see, I believe one of those Jews is living.  I believe him to be the
living
son of God, as he so identified himself.  Now, that seems strange and
peculiar to you.  I understand that.  But - perhaps I can explain it
thusly -
the things about which Jesus spoke are all about me every second of my
existence - and what he said animates and transcends what I witness each
day, each moment; there is both joy and sorrow at every turn, the sacred
and the profane side-by-side.  For me the word of God leaps from every
tongue - no matter how deranged - and from each instance of human existence,
no matter how disappointing, middling, or uplifting.  If I don't notice the
hand
of God, then it's because I'm not paying attention.

To go further with this line of thought isn't really easily done in this
format.
You say you are similarly interrogating a Muslim.  Okay; that's interesting,
and possibly even telling.  I guess, Sabri, I'm saying a spiritual journey
is different
than a political journey.  You are well on the path of the latter, but I -
perhaps
alone here - will strongly encourage you to continue investigating the
first.

All that having been said - and I'm quite willing to continue this
discussion
by private email - I don't think the A-List is the appropriate venue for
theological discussion.  This is a secular list.  Christianity, Islam,
Judaism,
Taoism, Hinduism, and Buddism are part and parcel of the lands at issue
here -
and, are represented if in no other way than native context, by at least
some of
our participants.

In fact, that is why I felt compelled to respond to Michael as I misread him
in the first place - his post with which I took issue was in response to a
non-Christian, and I was concerned that that individual was being
misinformed
about the tenets of Christianity as a consequence of Michael's narrow focus
on fundamentalists.  All that is cleared up now - but my point is that we
should not make an issue here of faith, or we're all going to get hopelessly
entangled and end up saying things we'll regret to one another.  I just
don't think
that's what the A-List is or should be about.  At least, not as I have
witnessed it.

Absolutely nothing I have written here is meant to dissuade you from further
investigations.  I will be very happy to respond to any further questions
you
might have for me at anyutka@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

All best,

Anne

And, no, Windows XP is not better than Windows 98 or 2000.

In fact, it's far worse as it contains a "backdoor" for Fedgov.  How do you
think
Gates got out of that DOJ suit?

One thing I think we can all agree on, Anne.
All devils claim to be agents of God.
This goes for Stalinists vis-a-vis Marx too.
the problem is, how to tell the difference!
Curiously, the devils seem to be better political operators when it comes to taking over the nominal church apparatus. (Viz. Cyril of Alexandria.)
