Again! I am quite curious to know what the "real" thing is. I am
having a debate, in Turkish, with a "political Islamist" friend,
a classmate from my mechanical engineering school, on the topic
of "real Islam" and asking him more or less the same questions.

By the way, I just approved another mail from Michael that got
caught by the spam filter (you AOLers might be better of if you
switch to something like yahoo or some other free web-based mail
when you post to this list, especially in the days when both
Michael and I will simultaneously be away for about a week) so I
am writing this without reading his response.

Let me ask this:

Is Gunder Frank a NOMINAL World System Theorist because he
disagrees with Wallerstein? Is it not the case that the World
System Theory more than Wallerstein and Frank and Amin and the
like? Is it not the case that it is the totality of all of them
and more?

If we extrapolate/extend this to whatever we like, don't we
encounter similar questions?
