[A-List] Short on Köhler, IMF and FT

Hah! Financial Times is sometimes funny. So that Köhler has
graciously granted Argentineans some years of respite? Well, what
happened was that even the Argentinean church blamed the crisis on
Köhler's IMF. Mr. Köhler's visit to Argentina was a very interesting
experience, indeed.

For the first time in decades, even the President explained Köhler
(as if he did not know it very well) that the IMF was the main
culprit in what had happened to our country.

Köhler could only stammer and retort with a shy face that "the IMF
has no legal power to force a country to follow the course that the
country does not want to follow", or words to that effect.

Although all this may finally end up as gas in the air, at least the
words from the Argentinean President were soothing. Up to now,
Argentina did not negotiate. Now, Argentina negotiates. Still
kneeling down, but negotiates.

Not the best scenario, but a better one than what we had had until
Dec 2001. In fact, it would be a stupid blindness not to recognize
that, thus far, this is all that those mobilizations and deaths have
been useful to.
