[A-List] Message formatting

William writes:

(I hope this message is formatted correctly, I have aol and it looks ok on
my end, but I've heard my messages lack proper spacing? I don't know how to
test this, please advise, thanks)

Both Michael H. and Melvin P. post from AOL addresses and their messages are
readable, so it looks like there is something specific to your settings that
could be altered. Perhaps either Michael or Melvin could let you know of
their format settings.

The Pipermail archive, which is updated continuously, is subject to format
problems for all messages not posted in plain text. For whatever reasons
William's are presently appearing as code. However there is another archive
at

http://archives.econ.utah.edu/archives/a-list/index.htm

This archive is also searchable, although it is updated less frequently than
the Pipermail one. It is also more tolerant of non-plain text messages,
although William's messages, while readable, still have problems with text
wrap and other small formatting issues.

For example,

http://archives.econ.utah.edu/archives/a-list/2003w25/msg00071.htm

Unfortunately it seems that all AOL subscribers get caught in our spam
filter and this will pose a problem when, in July, I will be away for at
least one week, so traffic might be bit slow for a while.

Michael Keaney

ps I wonder if all this difficulty with AOL is simply more deliberate
Microsoft sabotage of rivals' products.
