I have it from good and reliable authority that Tariq Aziz, as part of a
deal of turnning himself over to US forces, will be given a key role in
the new government of Iraq, possibly as Foreign Minister.

While Saddam practised enlightened despotism, Bush practises despotic
democracy.  The two came from different starting points but converged in
pratice.  The US, in winning the 20th century struggle for wealth and
empire, has made itself disliked and unwelcome in many quaters.  French
tension with the US is rooted in French animosity toward Britain two
centuries earlier when Napoleon labeled England as the new Carthage, a
ruthless mercantile and profit-seeking power which aspired to enslave
Europe to its financial and commerical system.  As long as democracy
rules in France, anti-Americanism will continue because the voting
middle class is turning to economic nationalism from direct painful
experience from neo-liberal globalization.  The US strategy to spread
"democracy" all over the global, is in reality an unwitting strategy to
spread anti-Americanism.

The Iraqi shiites steamroller to create a Islamic theocracy is sending
the US to scramble for cover under former Baath Party leaders.  Just as
the Allies accepted the services of Tallerand at the Congress of Vienna
after the fall of Napoleon, Tariq Aziz is the one Iraqi politician who
can handle Iraqi shiites and the European powers not part of the
Coalition of the Willing, not to mention Russia and China where he has
built solid contacts.  As Talleyrand sold the Congress of Vienna the
concept of legitimacy for post Napoleonic France, Tariq Aziz, a
thoroughly Westernized and modernized Chaldean Christian, can deliver
legitimacy to a new Iraqi government that would satify most if not all
interests.

The officier corps of the Republican Guards will rebuild the Iraq army
with US help, to become a force taht will make the Ireal Defense Army
look like a small tactical unit of special force.  Syria willl be
invaded by an Arab army in the name of pan-Arabism.  As neo-fascism was
recused to fight communism after WWII, Pan-Arabic Baathism will be
rescued to fight Islamic theocracy.  AS Christian Democrats were
nurtured to run Germany, a new Islamic Arab Democratic Party will be
formed to run post Saddam Iraq.  The Baath Party will change its name to
IADP.

But WWIII will not start in the Mid east. It will start in Asia.  And
the Mid east will soon become a major theater, like North Africa in WWII.
