I take the point. George Galloway's call is much more principled than Robin
Cook's. I would agree that an excessive preoccupation about tactics blurs
principles and is an open door to opportunism. George Galloway has said
what is right and objectively IMO has been very moderate. But a
no-confidence vote would be presented as a victory for Blair, and might let
them think they could pick off George Galloway later more easily.
