In principle, if not in practice, the defense should be that they are
permitted - indeed obliged - to refuse to carry out illegal orders, and
all orders to fight this illegal war are ipso facto illegal. Personal
responsibility NOT to carry out illegal order was firmly established
by the allies at Nuremberg and tokoy,

Gilbert Blades, a Lincoln-based lawyer, said the Ministry of Defense was trying to hush up the cases because it feared a public relations disaster.
