The pictures are impressive and inspiring. But as I understand, they are celebrations after the vote, not demonstrations to oppose the vote. The vote next Tueday will tell the story. Turkey is too far under the control of the US, and unless the government falls, the US will get its way, although the US has now to pay more. Besides, Turkey sees the Iraq War as an opening for Turkey to consolidate its postion relating to the Kudish question.
