[A-List] Saudi Arabia next

PS FWIW, a CIA source reports that the checkbook is out, the
administration promising fantastic bribes....and that Saudia Arabia is next
on the hit list.
Apparently, the monarchy is being conned into believing that once the US
has Iraq, the imperial forces will leave the Kingdom and encamp next door;
therefore, the Sauds believe they will have removed a major irritant to
their population (US troops), and still enjoy US protection....all they have
to do is support the US going into Iraq - but, my source says, the
double-cross is all mapped out.
Yes I am sure Saudi Arabia is a key target of the Bush administration
strategy. Things fell into place for me with an article in Foreign Affairs,
arguing that anti-Americanism is inevitable in the middle east because it
is a product of the poor governance in most of the countries there: it was
argued that nothing is to be gained by trying to avoid anti-Americanism. It
is better to be aggressive in tackling the problems.
The administration knows full well that most of the 9-11 attackers were
Saudi not Iraqi. It knows that the Saudi royal family has been buying
domestic peace from elements willing to wage "terrorism" abroad. The USA
needs a client state in Iraq functioning according to the bourgeois
democracy of finance capitalism. It needs a far larger armed force in the
region as a permanent garrison. It needs to control the Iraqi oil source so
it is not dependent on the good will of the Saudi royal family in Opec and
it needs ideologues to undermine the Saudi regime not from the side of
radical islam but from the side of bourgeois democracy.
It needs control of Iraq to do the same to Iran, but Iran, despite all its
internal contradictions is manoeuvring shrewdly to pre-empt this strategy.
It also needs Iraq for leverage on Syria and Egypt. No wonder it has
ordered the victorious Sharon to be very quiet. But yes Saudi Arabia is
next on the list.
Double crosses are all part of the agenda, as they have been in the past.
